A few months ago, I got what I thought was a good deal on a professionally written resume and LinkedIn profile. It was, to say the least, a disappointment. It was a lot of words without any substance. And filled with enough platitudes to make it a hot cheesy mess. I could probably develop an app that spits out buzz words and key phrases for the selected profession and come up with the same quality writing, though I would break a paragraph into at least two sentences each.
Now, I’m not saying I’m an amazing writer. I’m pretty good at grammar, spell-checking and editing other people’s documents. Writing new content, however, can be a daunting task. To those who do, I will raise a glass in your honor. And then I will break out a red pen.
I didn’t want this person’s (or bot’s) hard work to go to waste. I put it on my LinkedIn profile for a bit. Not surprising, it did not yield much in the way of garnering interest. In light of that, I rewrote my profile. To honor the past, though, I have preserved my professionally written LinkedIn Profile. Enjoy. 🙂
